Dear Victoria:  Please let the Notaries in Utah know that their laws will be enforced. The laws have been on the books for many years. Anyone closing loans MUST have a Title Insurance License (pass Pt 1 and Pt 2 of the Title/Escrow Exam) AND be appointed by a title or escrow company.  The penalties are:

  • Potential $50,000 fine if caught
  • Will NOT receive license of ANY sort (i.e. business license, sales, etc)
  • Will Most Likely lose commission for a VERY LONG time
