Dear Victoria:  I visited your booth at the Notary Conference and it was very nice. But what happened to the daily jackpot drawing you were going to have?  Did I get there too late? --Mendie

Dear Mendie:  No -- we intended to have the drawing but the NNA would not permit it. This is one reason I decided to hold my own workshops so there will be no limitations placed on my company by big organizations again.

Dear Victoria:  Congratulations: You did a wonderful job with the booth at the conference. Sorry you weren't feeling well, as so stated by your assistant. Lovely person, please say Hi.  I had mentioned in previous conference, but never have talked to you ... what a pity. You are a very successful individual who strives for excellence to the notary profession.  As an Ambassador for the NNA and the NASA I thank you. And please let me know if there is any help you need. I think you have everything pretty much under control. Congratulations again. I just ordered your bankruptcy booklets. I have faith it will expand my business. Dear Beatice:  I am so sorry I missed meeting you at the booth. Yes, I turned my body the wrong way, twisted my hip and could barely walk across the floor. Believe me, I was almost crying because I wanted to be at the conference instead of laying in bed. But I had no choice. Perhaps you and I will meet during one of my future workshops. I plan to schedule several next year, including one in California and Texas. Eventually there will be one in your area.

Dear Victoria:  Just a quick note in response to your answer about bad smelling signings in Issue 89 of The Notary News.  Your answer regarding the rats nibbling at your feet made me laugh as I did a signing last winter where a mouse actually ran across my foot and than died at my feet.  Mind you I was barefooted as is the custom of removing our shoes when entering a home in Alaska.  All I could do was chuckle as the homeowner was so embarrassed.  So, Yes sometimes we just have to suck it up and keep on going.  We are always the professional. --Linda

Dear Victoria:  I have recently been "stiffed" to the tune of $730.00 for completed assignments from a company in Florida.  The signing company was going by the name of Document Closers, Inc., and without notification to their notaries they dissolved the corporation on March 24, 2005 (voluntarily) according to state records.  They now go by DCI.com and are located in Orange City, FL with billing offices in Deland, FL.  I have tried without success to collect through phone calls, but only get the "Your check's in the mail" line.  Told them this morning I would take whatever legal action necessary to collect my fees.  The reason the bill was so high....the started giving me a few assignments per week, then suddenly increased to 5-6 a week.  By the time the month was finished they owed me a great deal of money. How can I get this warning out to other notaries before they get sucked in by this company? --Joe Antonucci, CNSA
